About Paisley
At Paisley’s Patterns, we believe that fashion can be a force for good.
Our mission is to transform the way people think about clothing by blending sustainable practices with local, ethical craftsmanship.
From our workshop in Central Queensland, we create beautifully crafted garments using Australian-made and dead-stock fabrics, honouring both our environment and our community.
Our vision is to make consciously choosing local and eco-friendly fashion the norm, inspiring a movement where style and sustainability go hand in hand.
We are always exploring how to improve the process from design to disposal and here are our key commitments in this process:
Sourcing: Australian-Made Fabric, 100% natural fibre fabric. Or deadstock.
Manufacturing: All pieces are cut and sewn in QLD, accredited by Made in Australia Campaign and Ethical Clothing Australia.
Waste: We are ever evolving our relationship with waste, for 15 years we gifted our fabric scrap bolt cores and thread spools to local kindies, but since relocating we haven't found any interested youth spaces.
We are currently creating garments from our usable sized waste, as inspired by our 2015 collaboration with Jane Milburn for her book "Slow Clothing."
As inspired by the internet, we are also making Ottomans to use up our smallest unusable scraps.
At this stage our waste is limited to a small desk size bin per week, we produce several hundred garments/items per month.
End-Of-Garment-Life: Kids grow fast! Although we aim for a 2-3 year growth span with our garments, and hope that you'll be able to pass them on to siblings and friends, we also offer a FB group where we encourage you to buy, swap, sell and give away your Paisley's Patterns items
Repairs: We offer lifetime free-repairs on garments (where the manufacturing is at fault), please reach out to organise and fixing you need done.
Together, we can make a difference, one garment at a time.

We collect deadstock fabric, which is new fabric that would otherwise go to landfill or be incinerated and we create beautiful, small runs of clothing with it.
Sometimes that may be 'blanks' or plain t-shirts for you (or us) to print or embroider on to.
Other times we make small runs of interesting t-shirts, shorts, leggings etc.
All children’s clothing is designed to support self-dressing and to grow with your children for many years. Best suited to tall, slim kids.
You’ll find most items are extra long for those who have trouble finding that long-leg or long-torso fit.
All clothing is designed and lovingly made in our workshop in Central Queensland.

From there to now:
Welcome to Paisley’s Patterns, the home of my sewing world.
I started sewing in 2011 as a form of therapy, since then it’s developed into a full-scale manufacturing business, servicing the whole of Australia.
The exploration over the years has covered:
Teaching sewing, drafting patterns, grading, sharing my designs on catwalks and in a published book, sewing samples, manufacturing, sewing for hundreds of Australian businesses, and several incarnations of my own fashion labels for kids and adults.
