Our Mission and Impact

What we already do:

FABRIC:

Collect deadstock fabric to keep it out of landfill or prevent it from being incinerated.
We have build a large network of manufacturers, distributes and community organisations who support us to access the best quality fabrics we can find.

Our printed fabric is printed with non-toxic, water-based inks, through a low-waste process for both the fabric and ink.

Our onshore printers use:
Waterless printing.

Global OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified products are tested for harmful substances to protect your health, including every thread, button and accessory are tested against a list of over 1,000 substances that are harmful to your health but also to the environment. We review the limit values for all of them at least once a year.

Our overseas fabric printer's certificates:
ISO 14001: which is a set of standards designed to help organizations increase their environmental sustainability. It is put forward by ISO, a leading international standard-setting organization.

SA8000 Certification: is a comprehensive and globally recognised standard designed to ensure the fair treatment of workers across all industries and regions.

WASTE:

Keep all of our mid-size scraps.

Gift all small, unusable scraps, empty spools, empty fabric bolts to local Kindergartens.

PURCHASING:

Source fabric, threads and labels locally.

Buy in bulk to reduce shipping, where we cannot viably by items we need on-shore.

COMMUNITY:

Employ local parents within school hours.

Giving 1 x $25 loan to Kiva.org at the end of each month.
I have had a Kiva.org account for many years and it has been reactivated in March 2025.
